1. Who We Are

Living Recovery is a peer support tool run by the Central Oregon Peer Services Foundation (CO-PS). We help people set goals, make plans, connect with services, and stay on track with court or program requirements.

We are not a medical provider, a treatment program, or a mental health clinic. We do not provide clinical services of any kind.

Our office is in Bend, Oregon. You can reach us at: [email protected]

2. What Information We Collect

Information you give us:

  • Your name, phone number, and email address
  • Your goals and what's getting in the way
  • Your appointments and reminders
  • Notes you share in chat with your peer support tool (Pace)
  • Your housing, employment, and benefits information
  • Court-related information (case numbers, hearing dates, supervision conditions) if you choose to share it
  • A photo taken when you first sign up (staff use only)

Information collected automatically:

  • Your login activity and the date and time you access the site
  • A record of which staff members looked at your file, and when

We do not collect information from cookies or third-party advertisers. We do not sell your data. Ever.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Help you set and track your goals
  • Schedule and remind you about appointments
  • Connect you with services like health care, housing, and benefits
  • Help your peer support team understand what you need
  • Send you reminder emails about upcoming appointments
  • Keep a record of your progress in programs like W.O.R.C.
  • Alert staff if you share something in chat that sounds like a safety emergency

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share it with companies that sell products or services.

4. Who Can See Your Information

You — you can see your own goals, plans, appointments, and chat history any time you log in.

Your peer support team — staff assigned to work with you can see your profile, goals, appointments, and notes. Every time a staff member opens your record, we log it automatically.

Program administrators — CO-PS administrators can access records when needed for program management, audits, or safety situations.

Courts and supervision officers — only with your consent. We do not share your information with courts, probation officers, or parole officers without your written permission, unless we are required to by law.

Emergency situations — if we believe there is a risk to your safety or someone else's, we may share information with emergency responders as required by law.

Technology partners — we use a small number of technology services to run this site. These providers are not allowed to use your data for their own purposes:

  • Cloudflare — website hosting and security
  • Anthropic — powers the Pace chat tool
  • Resend — sends reminder emails

Special note about substance use information: If you share information about substance use as part of your participation in a program like W.O.R.C., that information has extra protections. We do not share it without your consent except in very limited situations described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

5. Your Consent Matters

We will not share your information with outside organizations without your written consent, except where the law requires us to. You can take back your consent at any time by contacting us. We keep a record of every consent you give.

6. How We Protect Your Information

  • All data is encrypted when it travels between your device and our servers
  • All stored data is encrypted at rest
  • Staff access is role-based — staff only see what they need for their job
  • Every access to a client record is logged with a date, time, and staff name
  • We use two-factor login for all accounts

No system is 100% secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects your information, we will let you know as quickly as we can.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • See the information we have about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong
  • Ask us to delete your account and information
  • Ask who has looked at your record
  • Take back any consent you gave
  • File a complaint if you think your privacy was not respected

To use any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] or ask your peer support specialist.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your information for as long as you are active in CO-PS programs. After you leave, we keep records for the period required by Oregon law and our funding agreements. When records are no longer needed, we delete them securely.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this site and update the effective date. For significant changes, we will try to notify you directly.
